Members of the Jewish community in North Central Florida are mourning the deaths of the victims of last week's terror attacks in India.  
     Despite the distance from Gainesville to Mumbai, they say the attacks really hit home for everyone in the Jewish community. And the purpose of this memorial is to begin the healing process.
     "Today the community of Gainesville as well as the U-F community are getting together to express our grief for the attacks," Rabbi Berl Goldman said.
      Two of the victims, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka, were friends of Rabbi Berl Goldman here at the Jewish Student and Community Center in Gainesville.
    "Rabbi and Mrs. Holtzberg were the brightest and best young team couple," Rabbi Goldman said.
     The Holtzbergs were killed at a Chabad center in Mumbai when a gunman stormed in and opened fire last Wednesday.
    Steven Slutsky visited Mumbai two years ago, and says he felt lost in a different country until he met the Holtzbergs.                  Today, he mourns their loss.
     "He was a very charming and warm person," Slutsky said.
     Rabbi Goldman says the task now is to offer comfort and support to the survivors.
     Many people who came say they need to unite  in the memory of the victims.   
    "I think what they did was great for the Israeli community and the Jewish community," Jamie Levy, UF student, said.
     Many students from UF, who visited mumbai, often visited the Holtzbergs at the Chabad center there.
     Students here tonight say this is a tragedy felt by Jews all over the world.
      "I know I started sobbing when the news came through that the bodies had been found," Chaba Elisheva St. Laurent, UF student, said.
