Last Minute Shopping
Every year on the same day, hundreds of thousands of Floridians celebrate Christmas.
Yet, every year, you'll find thousands swamping the malls right up to the holiday itself.
According to the National Retail Federation all but thirty percent of Americans still say they have shopping to do.
Twenty percent polled say as of the 20th, they hadn't even started.
Today the Paddock Mall in Ocala was packed with last minute shoppers.
Last minute shopper Steve Daunhaeur says,
"I'm really bad about doing anything on time so you know the last day of the week so here we are."
According to the National Retail Federation there actually may be advantages to waiting until the last minute this year.
They say some retailers are slashing prices hoping to bring customers back into the stores, in an attempt to make up for slow sales.
