Alachua County Cut Backs

In one county, some of the budget concerns are prompting more layoffs while maintaining a hiring freeze. County Commissioners held an informal meeting earlier today to deal with some of those problems.
The Alachua County Manager says that the county is five million dollars down in revenue since October of this fiscal year. He says there is little hope for next year's budget if the economy does no't pick up. Restructuring the nearly 40 advisory boards may be another way the commission is trying to save money.
