Fire at Gardens Apartment Complex
Alachua County's fire crews put out what they call an advanced fire last night. It started with a 911 call from neighbors at the Gardens Apartment Complex. They reported smoke and flames at around 11. The fire was coming out of the apartment next door on Southwest 75th Street.
Carol Davis, Public Information Officer for the Alachua County/Gainesville Fire Rescue, says next door neighbors were cooking and at first thought the fire was coming from them. But, as it turns out, they were wrong. Davis says, "Nobody at this time knows what the cause of the fire was but its under investigation."
There were no injuries and the neighbors were asked to spend the night somewhere other than their home. For more on this story please see video:
