Early Vote '09 Starts Monday
Published March 15th, 2009
Early voting begins at 9 Monday morning at the Downtown County Administration Building.
The supervisor of elections says that she is expecting a larger turnout this year.
According to Pam Carpenter there were 400 early voters in 2007. She says she hopes the 2008 presidential race will encourage more Gainesville residents to vote early this year. She says,"I'm expecting that we are going to see double that maybe we'll see 800 or 1000 people that come in during the week and vote."
Early voting runs through late Saturday afternoon. Â
The supervisor of elections says the best time to arrive is in the morning to avoid possible lines.
