Grow Houses Evolve
Three grow houses were discovered by drug agents in Marion County this week revealing not only a growing problem but an evolving one as well.
Drug agents say part of what's changed in the last year or so, is that the people who are operating these grow houses are not criminals.
At least not until they're offered cars, money, and sometimes a brighter future in exchange for their participation in growing marijuana.
Twenty eight year old Francisco Castrillo and twenty seven year old Mario Trujillo are now behind bars with felony charges of drug trafficking.
Captain Eric Rawls with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Unit says,
"They get enticed with cars ...They give them cars sometimes to drive around they give them pocket money they give them food...whatever they need."
Drug agents say sometimes they see cases where drug organizations will hire people to pose as electricians in order to steal electricity for the houses without appearing suspicious.
