Published May 24th, 2009
Three Gainesville men may head back to jail after an early morning robbery in Downtown Gainesville.
Gainesville police say Blair Boyd, Michael Reed and Rama Thomas, all 21, were just released from prison after serving years for aggravated assault.
Police say they robbed a man of $60 on University Avenue and went to a gas station to spend it.
They went on the run and eventually were arrested in Alachua.
Gainesville police Lt. Keith Kameg says the men used an SKS assault rifle, much like an A-K 47 in the attack. The victim was not seriously injured.
