Black on Black Crime Task Force
The Black on Black Crime Task Force met tonight at the Gainesville Police Department. This meeting was different than usual, they honored members of two youth groups. First, several young men who are recent graduates of The Gainesville Police Explorer Post were recognized. They all have a G.P.A of 2.5 or higher and an interest in Law Enforcement. The Gainesville High School Diamonds were next to be recognized. The Diamonds are a group of girls who mentor other students at the school.
"Having a whole bunch of females come out, and help be sisters and help encourage one another so we can graduate and be our best."
"I wanted to be a police officer and I also needed community service hours so it was kind of like a two-for-one thing."
Both groups were encouraged to continue succeeding.
