Emergency Operation Center Hurricane Preparedness Meeting
Published June 1st, 2009
It's hot and it's muggy...and summer time is usually when the unbearable heat wave begins. But it's also the time of year when major storms are predicted to make a splash on to our coasts. On the first day of hurricane season, the Alachua County Emergency Operation Center prepares for the unknown. Agencies like police, fire, state's attorney, medical, all play different roles if a storm or hurricane comes to North Central Florida. The meeting is to introduce new representatives from the different groups and county officials want to make sure everyone is up to speed.
