Students Arrested for Smashing Chickens

Two 18-year-olds were arrested Monday after a video online showed them mistreating a chicken.
Alachua county deputies arrested Hawthorne High School students Patrick Dougan and Robert Sylvester Gordon.
A video posted on the internet shows the two smashing a chicken into the ground at school.
The video was recently sent to the county's animal services department.
Authorities learned that Future Farmers of America students had been learning to kill and properly package chickens.
But an instructor says the method the teenagers used were not taught in class.
Both students were charged with animal cruelty.
They are can face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
