Weatherization Program Helps Floridians
Published June 4th, 2009
For Floridians, summer means an increase in the need for air-conditioning, and with it, increased power bills. But, this summer, low-income assistance agencies are gearing up to help cut those costs. With the $175 million in federal stimulus money for weatherization, low-income families in Florida will have the opportunity for repairs, insulation, doors, windows and new air-conditioning and heating units.
In order to qualify, you must make less than double the 2009 Federal Poverty Guidelines. A link can be found at: http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/09poverty.shtml
