Gainesville Police Chief Search Narrows

The City of Gainesville has named five candidates in the running to be police chief.
Gainesville City Manager Russ Blackburn said 93 people applied for the job... The list has now been trimmed down to five.
Three people have been appointed to a committee to help interview candidates for the position. Those include, University of Florida Police Chief Linda Stump. Springhill Missionary Baptist Church pastor Adrian Taylor, and and retired Gainesville Regional Utilities executive Albert White.
The city isn't releasing the names of the candidates at this time since interviews have not been confirmed.
The names could be released on Monday July 20.
