Get Your Residential Parking Permits Online
Gainesville city leaders are trying to make the process of getting a residential parking decal a little easier.
Instead of driving all the way downtown, going to the Thomas Center, and filling out an application with proof of residency, you can now get that decal with a simple click of the mouse.
On August 4 all of the residential neighborhood parking decals and permits will be available for purchase online. All you have to do is go online at www.cityofgainesville.org and then click on the e-services link. There you will see an application for a decal.
The city's spokesperson Bob Woods says not only is this going to make the process easier for everyone, but it would also cut back costs.
"Decreasing the amount of city staff necessary to process the parking permits and decals as you know we've been going through a series of reduction in the city's budget so we're looking at all ways to reduce our staff," Woods said.
Once your application is approved the city will immediately mail your new permit directly to you.
