The Alachua County Sheriff's Office launched its own RAD Kids program this week.
RAD Kids provides children with self-defense skills and covers other safety topics.
Sheriff's deputies announced last summer they were interested in starting their own RAD program, modeling it after the University of Florida Police Department's program.
