Looking for Things to Do This Weekend?
TV20's Emily Gagnon provides tips about what's going on in North Central Florida over the weekend.
1) Benefit Concert, Gainesville
The concert will feature local hip hop artists Saturday at 1982 starting at 9 p.m. The benefits from the concert will go toward the Harvest of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization helping migrant workers and their families. Some of the night's entertainers include Swamp Boy Slim, Blue Chips and DJ Mr. Rogers.
2) Horse Showcase, Ocala
There will be 22 world champion horses on display to entertain folks. Kids will have the chance to ride ponies, participate in the ugliest dog contest and more. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion in Ocala.
3) Swimming
For those looking to cool off with some water fun, go to Wild Waters, a full-scale water park located east of Ocala. It opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. There are also three public pools open in Gainesville. The Westside pool at 1001 N.W. 31st Drive, the Northeast pool at 1100 N.E. 14th St. and the Mickle pool at 1717 S.E. 15th St.
4) Roller Rebels Match
For those looking for a little bit of action, go to the Alachua County Fairgrounds in Gainesville. The Gainesville Roller Rebels will take on the Beach Brawl Sk8r Dolls. The match begins at 5:30 p.m.
