Three Suspects Invade Home and Beat Victim with Shotgun
Lake City police responded to 746 N.W. Wilson St. early Tuesday morning in reference to a home invasion that had already occurred. Upon arrival, Officer Rebecca Miles observed the victim bleeding severely from several head injuries.
The victim had injuries to his head, right hand and left wrist. The victim was covered with blood on his head, neck, arms, hands and
shoulder, according to the Lake City Police Department.
The victim stated that while he was sleeping in bed with his 4-year-old daughter, he heard a noise in the living room. The victim stated that he went to see what was making the noise when three men attacked him, according to police.
The victim stated that one of the men beat him on the head with a shotgun, and one of the other men stabbed him with a knife in his right hand and left wrist.
The victim stated that the three men then stole his pants, which had his wallet inside them, and fled the scene. No injuries were caused to the victim's 4-year-old daughter, and the unknown suspects were not found.
The victim's back door appeared to have been kicked in, and there was evidence that a struggle had taken place in the home.
