Classes don't start for three more days, but schools across Alachua County were buzzing with activity for "Meet Your Teacher" day.

"I try to get a good feel of the teachers when I go in and I meet them," said Sylvia Anderson, whose children attend Duval Elementary. "I let them know that I'm a very active parent in my children's education."

Classes begin on Monday August 24.
