ROAD CLOSURES 8/22- 8/28
State Road and Lane Closures for August 22 - 28, 2009
LAKE CITY: The following is a list of roadwork underway by the FDOT that may impact traffic.
ALACHUA COUNTY:
Archer Road (State Road 24) Possible daytime lane closures beginning after 8 a.m. in front of Shands at the University of Florida to resurface the entrance to the hospital.
Interstate 75 The northbound lane exit ramp is scheduled to be closed at the Williston Road (State Road 121) exit (Exit 382) on Tuesday night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to repair the asphalt at the overpass. Also, the northbound outside lane will be closed but two lanes will be open. Traffic wishing to exit I-75 will be detoured to the next exit which is Archer Road (State Road 24) or Exit 384.
Newberry Road (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures from the Gilchrist County line to Southwest 34th Street (State Road 121) to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
Newberry Road (State Road 26) Possible daytime lane closures for driveway work near Sunstate Credit Union in Jonesville.
Northeast and Northwest 39th Avenue (State Road 222) Possible daytime lane closures from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. to place the final pavement markings and make minor sidewalk repairs between Northwest 23rd Terrace and the end of the four-lane (east of Waldo Road) near Gainesville Regional Airport.
Southwest and Northwest 13th Street (U.S. 441) Daytime lane closures between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and nighttime lane closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from north of University Avenue (State Road 26) to Northwest Sixth Street (State Road 20) to remove and replace some of the sidewalks and to add wheelchair accessible ramps at the side street intersections. On-street parking will be closed in conjunction with the sidewalk repairs and resurfacing. The repaving of the section between Northwest Fifth and 23rd streets is tentatively scheduled to begin Sunday, August 30.
Southwest 13th Street (U.S. 441) Possible daytime lane closures in the vicinity of the Shands parking garage at the intersections with Southwest 12th, 13th and 14th avenues to build directional medians.
Southwest 34th Street (State Road 121) Nighttime lane closures for southbound traffic at the intersection with Southwest 35th Place Sunday through Thursday to allow the southbound turn lane to be lengthened.
State Road 235 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between County Road 340 and the Bradford County line which is a moving operation. However, motorists should not travel in between the paint truck and the safety truck following to avoid getting paint on their vehicles.
University Avenue (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures between Southwest 34th Street (State Road 121) and Waldo Road (State Road 24) to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
BAKER COUNTY:
County Road 250 Daytime lane closures south of County Road 125 at Taylor to about five miles south to place the final layer of asphalt.
State Road 121 Daytime lane closures in downtown area of Macclenny to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
BRADFORD COUNTY:
State Road 100 Possible daytime lane closures east and west of U.S. 301 to inspect drainage pipes.
State Road 235 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between the Santa Fe River Bridge and County Road 18 which is a moving operation. However, motorists should not travel in between the paint truck and the safety truck following to avoid getting paint on their vehicles.
COLUMBIA COUNTY:
Interstate 75 The southbound rest area located just south of U.S. 41/441 is scheduled to be completely closed August 31 – September 4 for resurfacing. The next rest area to the south is just south of Gainesville. (This work was postponed from starting August 24)
Interstate 75 The outside northbound lane will be closed at three different locations north of the Santa Fe River (Alachua County line) on Monday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the outside southbound lane will be closed at three different locations on Tuesday to take asphalt samples from the pavement.
Marion Avenue (U.S. 441) The project to resurface between U.S. 41 and County Road 100A has been completed.
LEVY COUNTY:
State Road 121 Possible daytime lane closures between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to place the final pavement markings between U.S. 41 in Williston and the Alachua County line.
U.S. 19 Possible daytime lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to dusk between Southwest 14th Avenue and Rodgers Avenue (U.S. 129) in Chiefland to place the final roadway markings and complete minor sidewalk repairs.
U.S. 19 Daytime lane closures between Lebanon Station and Otter Creek to resurface and work on the shoulders of the roadway.
MADISON COUNTY:
U.S. 90 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between the Jefferson and Suwannee County lines which is a moving operation, however, motorists should not travel in between the paint truck and the safety truck following to avoid getting paint on their vehicles.
SUWANNEE COUNTY:
U.S. 129 Daytime lane closures between U.S. 27 and the Suwannee River to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings. Also, crews will be repainting the roadway lines which is a moving operation, however, motorists should not travel in between the paint truck and the safety truck following to avoid getting paint on their vehicles.
TAYLOR COUNTY:
U.S. 19 Possible daytime lane closures scheduled to begin Monday as a project to resurface from 12th Street in Perry to the Madison County line begins.
U.S. 19 Daytime lane closures between the Dixie County line and U.S. 221 in Perry to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
U.S. 221 Daytime lanes closures at the bridges over Woods Creek, Two Pines Creek, Rock Creek and Cypress Creek for repainting the bridge steel.
UNION COUNTY:
County Road 231 Daytime lane closures between the Reception and Medical Center (RMC) and the Bradford County line to resurface.
State Road 100 Daytime lane closures between the Bradford and Columbia County lines to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
State Road 231/238 Daytime lane closures between State Road 100 and the Reception and Medical Center (RMC) to allow inmate crews to repaint the roadway markings.
