Suspects Arrested While Trying to Steal Gas
The Bradford County Sheriff's Office arrested two men early Monday morning after catching them trying to steal gas.
Sgt. Kevin Mueller was conducting surveillance in the early morning hours around Keystone Golf and Country Club after the location had been victimized several times in recent weeks.
Mueller was hiding in a secluded area at the country club when he saw the defendants drive behind the clubhouse. Mueller confronted the subjects and they surrendered without incident.
Both men admitted to trying to break into the business in recent weeks to obtain gas for their vehicles.
Daniel Lockett and Sean Haddix, both 18, were charged with theft, trespassing and criminal mischief, according to the Bradford Country Sheriff's Office. Both are from Keystone Heights, Fla.
