And if you don't want to listen to music out on the grass, you can watch a movie in the pool. Go out to the Westside Pool tonight in Gainesville to watch a true classic: the 1975 thriller "Jaws." The pool opens at 8 p.m., and the movie starts at 9 p.m. It's located at 1001 N.W. 31st Drive.
You can also catch some new movies in theaters tonight, no matter where you are in North Central Florida. The much anticipated "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" is out.
Or set your eyes on a cooking comedy featuring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams...Julie and Julia. This is based ona true story of the famous chef Julia Child and another woman who joins her culinary quest.
On Saturday, watch some chili chefs compete for the top spot to become Gainesville's best vegan chili chef. The Harvest of Hope will hold its vegan chili cook-off from 1 - 8 p.m. at the Kickstand in Gainesville. Enjoy some local arts and crafts as well as some acoustic music and ice cream along with your chili. The Kickstand is at 722 S. Main St.
On Sunday, make your way to Sunday Fun Day at the Gainesville Raceway. Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be a 1/4 mile "no time" test and grudge runs. It's $25 to race and $5 to watch. Children 12 and under get in free with a paying adult.
