Kind Gesture From Overseas
Published September 2nd, 2009
A Gainesville family lost their camera while on vacation in Germany this summer. But thanks to a kind man in Germany, they're getting their camera back -- and their missing photos.
The man located the family after recovering deleted pictures from the camera's memory card. In one of the photos, a child was wearing a T-Shirt from an Alachua County Sheriff's Office field trip.
The man in Germany contacted sheriff's deputies, who in turn, e-mailed a teacher at Queen of Peace Academy. The teacher recognized the girl in the photo, Abby Diblin, and contacted her family.
The Diblins expect to receive their camera in the mail in the next few weeks.
