Santa Fe College Launching "Growing Entrepreneurs" Program
Published September 14th, 2009
Santa Fe College's "Center for Innovation and Economic Development" together with "Energent Ventures" is launching a new program called "Growing Entrepreneurs" for high school students.
It's open to kids enrolled in Alachua County's academy programs. Ten winners will receive $500 each for their startup company and will be mentored by business leaders starting in November.
"Having gone through that process of vetting an idea and getting the business started will make them so much more prepared with their next idea to be able to turn it into a reality," said Dug Jones, Assistant Vice President for Economic Development at Santa Fe.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 24.
