Marion County Detectives Search for Three Wal-Mart Television Thieves
Three people in Marion County are on the run tonight after allegedly trying to steal four television monitors from a Wal-Mart in Summerfield. The incident took place early Monday morning.
According to a police report, two men entered the Wal-Mart around 2 in the morning. They proceeded to load four TVs into two separate shopping carts, and left the store through the garden department without ever paying for the items.
Once in the parking lot, they proceeded to load the TVs into the trunk of a late 90's / early 2000's model Chevy Capri. The car was being driven by a woman and is described as having tinted windows, black rims and 22 inch tires. There was also a hole cut in the top of the hood for a scoop. Wal-Mart employees followed the men outside and were able to grab two of the TVs from the trunk before the car drove away.
The county Sheriff's Department is now activly searching for the three individuals involved in the theft: a black male, a white/Hispanic male, and a Hispanic female, who acted as the getaway driver.
