Broadcaster Steve Babik Charged With Possession of Child Porn
Long-time broadcaster Steve Babik has turned himself in to Federal Authorities and has been charged with possession of child pornography.
Babik and his lawyer, Larry Turner, arrived at the Federal Courthouse in Gainesville for a first appearance.
He faces two counts of possessing and distributing child pornography - charges that could result in 30 years in prison and $500,00 in fines.
Babik was fired from his position as the the Network Coordinator at the University of Florida. Babik was the host of the TailGator Pre-game Show, a side-line reporter during live game broadcasts and host of the Urban Meyer Post-Game Show.
On Tuesday, the judge ordered Babik to appear back in court on March 1st.
He was released but ordered to wear a monitoring device. He also was ordered to home confinement.
