Church Sends Wheelchairs to Haiti
An area church is teaming up with a central Florida doctor to ship medical supplies to Haiti.
That is why the church is teaming up with an orthopedic specialist from Melbourne, Dr. Ware, who is doing operations in Haiti.
Dr. Ware sent a message across the state, saying people were leaving their surgeries in wheel barrows.
He want to collect enough supplies from across the state and send them to Haiti on donated cargo planes.
That's when the church decided to collect supplies throughout the week.
Friday was their last day, so they set up camp and started collecting at 8 a.m.
"you may not be able to reach Haiti individually, but collectively as a team, as a family...we are all one," said Pastor Shirley Watts.
The church collected over 300 medical supplies by the end of the day on Friday.
