Endeavor Shuttle Launch
After being delayed on Sunday morning Endeavor and six astronauts blasted off to the International Space Station this morning marking the last planned night launch. With only four more planned missions for the shuttles until they are retired many people are making sure they see a launch before it's too late. The main reason for the retirement of the shuttles is that they are old and due to budgeting issues it is uncertain if they will be replaced. Stephen Eikenberry, astronomy professor at UF, says a large turn out came hoping to see space history first hand. "I saw on Saturday night a huge number of people there from all walks of life. This is really a part of American History and a part of American tradition. We've had man space flights a source of national pride for almost fifty years now." If you missed this launch, you have until September to catch one.
