City Elections
Published March 15th, 2010
Candidates for Gainesville Mayor and City Commissioner District Four have just a few more hours to win over those final undecided voters. There are five candidates running for mayor and city commissioner. Voters need to bring a picture ID otherwise they might have to use a provisional ballot. All precincts are open from 7am to 7pm and all absentee ballots must be in by 7pm. With so many candidates on the ballot, there could be a runoff election. Winners must receive 50% plus one vote to win. If no one wins, the two candidates who have the most votes will have a run off election on April 13th. Some polling sites have changed. Go to the Supervisor of Election's website to see more information.
