Students Learn About Farm Animals At Youth Fair
Published March 29th, 2010
Hundreds of elementary school kids got to see, touch, and smell farm animals that don't live on a farm.
4H and Future Farmers of America members showed off their goats, cows, and pigs to the students. It's all part of the Alachua County Youth Fair and Livestock Show.
Members displayed their cows, rabbits, dogs and even their cooking skills.
The school tours are used to introduce kids to farm animals that they may not interact with otherwise.
The Alachua County Farm Bureau paid for the buses to transport the 400 students to the fairgrounds. The fair runs through Tuesday afternoon.
