Main Street Businesses Suffering During Construction
Published April 12th, 2010
Store owners on Main Street in Gainesville say they're open for business, but no one's coming in.
The owners say the construction on Main Street has driven customers away, and if something doesn't change, they'll be closing their doors for good.
Owners of one business, the Backstage Lounge, say they've lost 40 percent of customers since the project started last September.
So they had a meeting with other business owners, and Department of Transportation officials, to talk about how the stores will survive during construction.
