Police: Gainesville Man Accused Of Beating, Stabbing Woman

Gainesville police have charged a man with beating and stabbing a woman on a street corner early Saturday morning.
Officers say Herman Brown, 48, punched the victim repeatedly in the face on Northeast 18th Street.
According to a police report, when the victim tried to get away, Brown stabbed her twice in the left shoulder.
Brown was arrested and charged with a number of crimes including battery and kidnapping.
