Suspect Found Dead, Two Others Arrested In Dunnellon Standoff
A week long crime spree came to a violent end Wednesday evening.
A man, who escaped from jail in Alabama, and two friends led investigators to Marion County.
The trio left behind a trail of robbery victims, a stolen car, and at least one woman recovering from a beating. A fter a standoff, deputies say the apparent ringleader killed himself.
In full force, Marion County deputies, armed police men and choppers hovered up above over the normally quiet city of Dunnellon. Law enforcement closed in on 31-year-old Justin Williamson.
An escaped prisoner out of Alabama, deputies say Williamson and his sister, Ashley Williamson and a friend Stephanie Hill were involved in an armed robbery in Bay County on Saturday.
Surveillance photos later showed where they tried using credit cards they stole.
On Wednesday afternoon, the three pistol-whipped and robbed an 80-year-old woman in Ocala.
Deputies caught up with Hill and Ashley Williamson at a nearby gas station leaving Justin Williamson at a hotel.
