Alachua County Animal Services Hosts Spring Adoption Event
Published May 16th, 2010
One North Central Florida organization hosted a spring cleaning party. But, they weren't trying to get rid of old clothes or shoes, instead they were hoping to get pets adopted.
Alachua County Animal Services brought out the claws...animal claws as they washed and pampered pets Saturday.
Residents also brought their animals in to be looked at. Vendors were on hand to offer pet products, food and other novelties.
Organizers were happy with the turnout.
"This is our chance to get everybody adopted," Hilary Hynes said. "All the kittens, all the cats, all the dogs, all the puppies, you name it we're getting them out."
There were more than a dozen animals adopted Saturday.
Organizers said the next adoption event will be some time in the fall.
