Published May 18th, 2010
School teachers and parents are anxiously waiting for the F-C-A-T scores to come back. Students took the test in March, but the school district will get third grade results sometime next week.
Third graders need a score of 2 or higher to pass. Alachua county has received an A grade for the last four years for the district based on the F-C-A-T scores. This year state lawmakers eliminated some F-C-A-T testing for high schoolers. Jackie Johnson with the Alachua county school district says,"We use the F-C-A-T to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of our students, to look where they need help and to adjust and instruct accordingly." 4th through 10th grade scores will come around the last week of school, which begins june 7th.
