Published May 29th, 2010
It wasn't exactly a gardening dispute, but a woman is behind bars for swinging a weed wacker at her roommate.
Deputies say Angela Jones, 49, started cursing and yelling at her roommate when she pulled the three-foot gardening tool from the back of his pickup truck and started to come after him.
It happened at the Praire View Apartment Complex in Gainesville. The victim, fearing for his safety, then tried to drive off in his pickup.
When questioned, Jones denied swinging the weed wacker at the victim.
Jones is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the Alachua County Jail.
