Fire Destroys Newberry House

A mobile home is destroyed after a fire ripped through it Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived shortly before 2 p.m. to the home on SW 30th Avenue in Newberry. The 2,000 square foot home was engulfed in flames when rescue crews arrived.
The renter of the home was out of town.
No one was injured, but the building is a total loss.
Both the Alachua County Fire Rescue and Newberry Fire Rescue responded to the blaze. Crews were able to respond quickly to prevent it from spreading to a nearby wooded area.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
