Gravestone Mystery
Published June 22nd, 2010
A woman discovered a gravestone around her property off Southwest 13th street in High Springs late last year. Now city officials are hoping someone will come forward with information on who it may belong too. The tombstone only reads died in 4/21/46. The top part where the name would be is broken off. City officials believe Theresa Martin, who lives next door might have accidently pushed the stone over to the neighboring property when she was clearing debris off of hers. Steve English who owns the neighboring property filed the compliant with police. The city has contacted the Human Identification Lab from UF and they will inspect the site at the end of July.
