A missing Clay County man was found alive early Sunday morning more than 40 miles away from his home.

David Calaway, 59, was found at the VA Hospital in Gainesville.

Clay County Sheriff's detectives said they are still unsure how he got to Gainesville, since he left his cell phone and vehicle at his home in Middleburg.

Officials said they believe Calaway is in good condition.
