George Steinbrenner Ties To North Central Florida

New York Yankee owner George Steinbrenner who was known as "The Boss" passed away this morning in Tampa. He was eighty years old. He donated money for the lights at U-F's baseball field and for high tech equipment at the animal hospital. His biggest gift was for the band hall building which the university named after him.
