Kendrick Meek Visits Gainesville
Kendrick Meek, one Democratic candidate for Senate, is taking his message on the road and fighting for every last vote. In just over two weeks Democratic voters will head to the polls. Meek, who has come under heavy attack from opponent Jeff Greene, remained mostly positive at today's event. Greene has launched an ad campaign calling Meek crooked. Speaking to a friendly crowd, the Congressman was upbeat and talked about his support of health care reform, clean energy, and ending Don't Ask, Don't tell. However when asked about Greene's accusations, Meek took the opportunity to fire back.
"He (Greene) is not the kind of individual that carries the qualities or the character to represent the people of the state. I stand on the fact that I'm an accomplished policy maker," said Congressman Kendrick Meek.
Congressman Meek is traveling across the Sunshine State in what he's calling "the Real Dem Express." In addition to Gainesville, Meek visited supporters in Ocala today.
Our sister-station, Gainesville CW, will broadcast the Democratic US Senate and Republican Gubernatorial Debates on August 10th and 11th at 7PM. The CW is available on Cox cable channel 10 and over the air on channel 20.2
