Main Street Construction Update
Published August 26th, 2010
As construction creeps up Main Street to downtown, drivers will have more headaches visiting stores and restaurants. The project started last year and the final phase is expected to be completed spring, 2011. Main Street is closed from fifth to fourth avenue but the blocks closer to University Avenue will be closed in the following months one block at a time. Since storm water and sewer systems are in the middle of the road, the entire street has to be closed. All businesses will be accessible by sidewalks downtown but drivers will have a couple obstacles to cross to get there.
