Gameday Security
Published September 11th, 2010
For most fans today was just another Gator home game. But for law enforcement around Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, it was also a day to be more vigilant in searching for suspicious activity. Some streets around the stadium were closed an hour earlier than normal, and they brought in a few extra bomb sniffing dogs just in case. While one fan made fun of the possible security risk, one season ticket holder says the recent events are a reason to be concerned and his wife stayed home. But one fan from Tampa says she wouldn't miss the game for any reason. Police say only a few minor incidents were reported during the game, which means fans didn't have to worry about their safety, only about what was happening on the field.
