Weekend Spotlight
Happy Friday everyone! We are a few days into fall now....but those summer like showers will be back in our forecast for the next few days. But...rain or shine there's plenty to do around north central Florida this weekend. We get started with our weekend activities tonight.....
There will be lots of music around town....including at the O'Dome. Country rock artist Corey Smith is back in town. You may have seen him at his other appearances at the Swamp and at Common Grounds. This time around you'll get to hear some songs from his newest album "Keeping Up With the Joneses". The show starts tonight at 8 at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on West University Avenue. Tickets are 22 dollars. Your text to link...
And if you're taste in music is more of the punk variety, Gainesville's own Less Than Jake is appearing in town tonight. This will be their last appearance in Gainesville before they head out on their world tour, including stops in Japan and Europe. You can catch the band tonight at 8 o'clock at Common Grounds, 210 SW Second Avenue in Gainesville. Your text to link...
In Levy County some people are actually riding into the weekend on a horse! The 15th annual Williston Pro Rodeo is back. The live rodeo action starts at 8 tonight....and Saturday night The professional cowboys *and* cowgirls are entering their final weekend of competition in the 2010 regular rodeo season. You can find the Williston Pro Rodeo at the Williston Horseman's Arena, about a mile and a half south of Williston on highway 41. Your text to link...
Finally if you're looking to add a pet to your family, Lake City is the place to be Saturday. From noon to 5 pm you can check out the Rescues and Runways Fashion Show at the Lake City Mall. You'll find sharp looking ladies walking the runway with dogs who are in need of a home. The folks at the Lake City Humane Society would love for you to stop by. Again, that's noon to 5 Saturday at the Lake City Mall on highway 90 in Lake City. Your text to link...
