This month is domestic violence awareness and according to state crime numbers released today, domestic violence murders have risen 5.8%. This morning Alachua County Sheriff's deputies focused on arresting wanted for domestic violence related crimes. Other law enforcement agencies across the nation participated in the warrant round-up. On any given day the sheriff's office in Alachua County receives ten to twenty phones calls related to domestic violence. Deputies say this is one of the most serious crimes they deal with.
