Before you celebrate Thanksgiving this Thursday you might be one of the millions flying home this year. Overall airlines are expecting an increase of travelers by 3.5% compared to last Thanksgiving. More people are expected to fly through Gainesville this holiday season than last year. The number of fliers have increased by almost 40% over the past year. Travelers who fly through Gainesville won't have to worry about body scanners. Gainesville won't receive them until next year. The Gainesville Regional Airport encourages all travelers to check with the TSA website to stay up to date with all travel restrictions and policies.
