Job Training Provides A New Home For Family
Published February 17th, 2011
It's a first of its kind program in Ocala. A program that teaches young people job skills and provides a family a new home. Kerry and Sabrina Cook of Ocala will soon own their first house, but not until a lot of hard work on the part of 16 young men and women. The program called Phoenix Rising was first thought of by Ocala Police Chief Sam Williams. For 16 weeks participants will build a house with Habitat for Humanity and learn job skills such as how to apply for jobs. The home should be finished by mid-June. The program is funded by donations from local businesses.
