The next time you park your car, you may want to pay extra attention to what you're leaving behind. Deputies warned residents to take extra precautions after a string of car burglaries across the county. They say 23 cars were broken into in the last 9 days which is why they suggest to take your valuables inside.
"It's an opportunity for them to burglarize that vehicle and for the citizen to suffer a loss so we are asking them to do their part and removing those items when they go inside at the end of the day from their vehicle... to hopefully eliminate the possibility of a burglary," said Lit. Latrell Simmons with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
