In honor of the men and women who have sacrificed in the name of freedom, Highland Memorial Park held a special service Monday.
The Memorial Day event included the recognition of several World War II Veterans who were in attendance. A number of middle and high school students were awarded prizes for writing touching essays about Memorial Day.
A special procession was also performed by members of the Armed Forces, along with a 21-gun salute.
