Published June 21st, 2011
They brought big boxes of books...bringing even bigger smiles.
Local leaders joined United Way of North Central Florida today at Small World Daycare Center in Gainesville to read to pre-school children.
United Way raised $1,000 dollars to bring new books to kids at learning centers in the area. Today's event was part of United Way's national "Day of Action," which is held annually on Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year).
400 children got a new book of their own.
