Wildfires Ignite in North Central Florida
Published June 14th, 2011
Wildfires continued to burn Tuesday evening. They torched land and tapped out resources. A state of emergency was still in effect Tuesday as conditions were so severe that wildfires could ignite almost anywhere. 2 brush fires alongside US Highway 301 gave residents a scare. Many watched as firefighters battled the flames and as a helicopter dumped water from the air.
"She (a relative) saw the flames. As she pulled in the driveway, we ran down here real quick to make sure if we needed to do something," said nearby resident Juli Dukes.
