Shooting Investigation
A quiet neighborhood is picking up the pieces after a shooting over the weekend. Tamara Lockley, 46, was shot by police inside the subdivision off northwest 16th Avenue in Gainesville.
Police say around 2:30 Saturday morning an officer tried pulling over Lockley for a traffic violation about two miles away. Acording to Tscharna Senn, GPD spokesperson, Lockley did not stop and continued to drive to the Colony Park subdivision.
Police have confirmed one shot fired by officer Rob Narayan when Lockley tried running him over. However some are saying several shots were fired.
"Some people said 10 or 11 shots, some people said 7 or 8, most of them all agree that it was one shot and later on, it was several more shots," said Ivan Solbach, a contractor remodeling a home in the neighborhood.
The exact number is being investigated.
We took a look at court records and aside from a few traffic violations, Lockley was charged with misdemeanors including trespassing, posession of drugs, and theft.
